Probationary Officer

IBPS Common Written Exam for Probationary Officer

1. This Written Examination (CWE) is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), which is a autonomous agency and it includes 27 public banks of India.
2. The written examination is a pre-requisite for selection of personnel for Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee posts in the Public Sector Banks.
3. In this system of selection process of Common Examination for recruitment of Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees there is three stage procedure for taking as a PO.
4. This common written examination process has been approved by each of the 22 participating Public Sector Banks and the Managing Committee of the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) with the consent of the Government of India.
5. IBPS conducts all the written examination online basis and the result declaration also online to inform short listed candidates for the next round test and interview.
6. Interviews will be conducted by the participating organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each state/ UT with the help of IBPS.

 

State Bank of India Probationary Officer

1. State Bank Of India Probationary Officer is known as the best in this category because of its good salary than the other banks PO.
2. State Bank of India also conducts examination for vacancies for the post of Probationary Officers in the bank and doesn’t participate in IBPS CWE pattern for selection procedure.
3. The structure of the written examination of the PO exams by State Bank of India also includes a written examination in two stages.
4. The exam is divided into two parts; Part A and Part B. Part A of the exam will consist of Objective Tests whereas; Part B will consist of a Descriptive Paper.
5. The final round for the selection process is the interview.
Private Banks
1. Private Banks are the other banking groups and mostly conduct their own aptitude tests for candidates.
2. Private sector banks also conducts their selection process of written examination in two stages as State Bank of India and the public sector banks.
3. In these banks final selection also depends on the interview basis.

 



 

Clerical Recruitments

IBPS Common Written Exam for Clerical Recruitment

1. This Written Examination (CWE) is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), which is a autonomous agency and it includes 27 public banks of India.

State Bank of India Clerical Recruitments

1. State Bank of India also conducts examination for vacancies for the post of clerks in the bank and doesn’t participate in IBPS CWE pattern for selection procedure and conducts its separate test for the recruitment of Indian citizens for appointment in the Clerical Cadre posts in its bank.
2. In this testing procedure the selection process depends on two levels first is written and the other is interview.
3. Application for test to written examination all the process conducts on the online basis and the result also appears online.
4. The written test will be of Objective type consisting of General Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Marketing Aptitude/Computer Knowledge.

 



 

Specialist Officer

1. There are other post in the banking sector which is called Specialist Officer.
2. The selection procedure for this post is not same as above because these posts are not same as the bank PO or bank Clerk and also these posts are not so much in number in the banking sector.
3. In public sector banks, the post of specialist officers selected by the Common Written Examination by the IBPS.
4. There are different post requirements and different Scales which depend on the vacancies at the moment. Example – Marketing Officer, Law officer, HR Officer, IT Officer, etc. So the eligibility will vary on the post and the scale of the required officer.

 



 

 

Regional Rural Banks

 

1. Regional Rural Banks are local level banking organizations operating in different States of India.
2. They have been created with a view to serve primarily the rural areas of India with basic banking and financial services. However, RRBs may have branches set up for urban operations and their area of operation may include urban areas too.
3. A Common Written Examination (CWE) is conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for recruitment of Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Office Assistants (Multipurpose) in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs).

The Written Examination for CDS:

  • Mode of the CDS exam is offline type.
  • The examination papers pattern is objective.
  • There will be 120 total question in the English and G.K. portion but only 100 question will be in the Elementary mathematics.
  • Each paper will be held for 2 hours’ duration.
  • For every correct answer in English and General Knowledge there is 0.83 marks.
  • In Elementary Mathematics 1 marks given for a correct answer.
  • There is also negative marking for incorrect answers and that is 1/3 mark.
  • For the candidates, appearing for OTA (Officers Training Academy), the written exam will conduct for 200 marks because there will be no Elementary Mathematics paper for them.

Eligibility Criteria for CDS (Combined Defense Services Examination)

The Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS) is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively.

The pattern for the exam is fixed and syllabus is also same by UPSC. That’s why it is achievable with the help of proper preparation for all the candidates. UPSC conducts the exam of CDS in two stages- Written and Interview. And with the help of these selection procedure candidates selected in Indian armed forces as a officer. The Interview for CDS:

Candidates who have cleared the CDS written exam conducted by UPSC will need to go through an interview.  After clearing the first stage written exam candidate receives a call letter for interview. The interview will be conducted to test the intelligence and personality of qualified candidate.

The interview processes will be held in one of the SSB (Service Selection Board) centers in India and also conducted by them. The candidate will be measured by the selection staff after a deep and long testing process and with the help of so many tasks and skill tests.

The SSB Interview procedure comprises of two stages-

  1. OIR ( Officers Intelligence Rating) test.
  2. Interview ( Psychology test, conference, group discussion)
